Our History. Life Gate was started in April of 1993 in St. Charles. After three months of weekly gatherings the new church moved to the Wehrenberg Theaters at Mid Rivers Mall, calling ourselves Church At The Mall. We stayed at the mall for almost four years before being asked by Living Word Christian Elementary School to join them in their building at 310 Cardinal Place. Leaving the mall we became The Life! Church, partnering with Living Word as they grew and built a new high school and junior high.
Four years with LWCS was very productive, but in 2001 we found ourselves out of space and searching for a new, larger facility. It was then that we were able to purchase our current property and building at 7575 Veterans Memorial Parkway. Our first service at the new building was in March of 2001, with our first conference taking place just a few weeks later in April.
After getting established in the new building, we dropped “The” and continued as Life Church for a number of years. For a brief time we even used Life House of Prayer, but in 2012, we felt the prompting of the Lord to make the change to Life Gate International, which is our current name and strength.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting many conferences, seminars, and events, as well as numerous worship and prayer gatherings. Thousands have attended our inner healing seminars (formerly Ancient Paths, currently Freedom Prayer Ministries), receiving life-changing healing and breakthrough. Our youth ministry, summer VBS, and homeschool cooperative have impacted families all over the region and brought many in the next generation to know Jesus.
God has been so good to sustain us and mark us with his presence for over three decades, and we look expectantly to the days ahead!
